The JSA herald in the new year with the opening of the JSA Museum. Unfortunately, Captain Marvel's old nemesis Black Adam--back from his sojourn in space--has chosen to crash the party!

The Justice Society of America's headquarters and museum is finally opened. After the inauguration, they find that Black Adam is causing trouble in their city. The JSA comes to stop his rampage when Doctor Fate learns that Nabu knew Black Adam's host from the past. Taking Hourman and Hawkgirl with him, Doctor Fate travels through time to ancient Egypt to the moment where the human host, Teth-Adam, receives Shazam's power. Doctor Fate interrupts that power transfer, causing Black Adam to return to human in the current time. Alan Scott learns that Black Adam has a brain tumor.
